My favorite bargain so far was the purchase of a Wembley Ware salt and peppers shakers in the shape of fish. I paid $3.00 for them and they sold a year later for $125.00….

The Wembley Ware range of “fancy ware” was produced between 1945 to 1961 by HL Brisbane and Wunderlich Ltd/ Bristile. The Wembley Ware range was specifically made for the local market during the 50’s using iconic Australian themes such as animals like the kangaroo, koala, kookaburra and the merino. The Australiana aspect of the ware and the quality makes it highly collectible today.

I have added some more websites for you to browse and here is a photo of my latest find. Can anyone identify its maker? It's a Dolphin Ashtray which a Gold Coast sticker on it and there are impressed numbers on the base rather like Diana or MCP Mingay.
